All I Really Need to Know I Learned at
Stonewall Farm...

Manners:  One cannot spend a day at Stonewall Farm without hearing dozens and dozens of “Pleases,” “Thank-you’s,” and “Excuse-me’s.”

Compassion:  I have learned that horses and humans are in no way like machines -- they require consideration and love. The horses require our compassion for their survival -- they cannot take care of themselves.

*Sharing* Leadership* Assertiveness*

*RESPONSIBILITY*

Creativity:  fun shows, riding games, lunch lists, & the stick horse Olympics! trail rides! foal pools!

Need I say more?

Communication:  I am now able to answer questions with a direct “Yes” or “No”, rather than a weak or passive response.

Initiative:  Everyone is encouraged to take initiative in order to reach the common daily goal -- getting the job done- & done well!! It is obvious to any observer that everyone’s hard work really makes a difference!

Hygiene:  I have learned that if you don’t wash out all the shampoo, baldness may result (oops.) Also, you cannot obtain the condition of “clean” when your “cleaning materials” are DIRTY to begin with.

Goal Setting:  I know how to create challenging goals for myself. They encourage me to try my best, and although a struggle may be involved to achieve them, the goals are definitely within reach.
